Surplus Safariland IIIA XL SAPI cut plate backer set (2 pieces) manufacture date of January 2010. These backers help absorb and spread the blunt force of a hard plate impact reducing over all physical trauma to the wearer. They also provide ballistic protection from secondary fragmentation from edge shots if they extend past the outer dimensions of hard plates or when used with in conjunction with (ICW) hard armor plates. Alone these panels are rated to protect against virtually all pistol rounds as well as 1 oz 12 Gauge rifled slugs.
